The life expectancy of people is increasing day by day. For 2020, more than 9.5% of the entire world population consists of individuals aged 65 and over. Our country ranks 66th among 167 countries in this ranking. In our country, according to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute, the expected life expectancy is 75.9 years for men and 81.3 years for women. The number of individuals aged 65 and over, which constituted 8.2% of the population in 2015, reached 9.5% in 2020. According to population projections, these rates are; It is estimated to be 16.4% in 2025, 19.6% in 2030, 25.3% in 2040, 37.5% in 2060 and 43.6% in 2080.
